CONONDALE COMMUNITY MATTERS
is a virtual notice board serving our community with information, news and community events.

Now a little about Conondale
Conondale is situated only a 20 minutes drive from the popular tourist township of Maleny in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and is a pretty rural town that lies at the head of the Mary River and the beginnings of the Conondale Range. Rolling hills, along with the Mary River,  create a very scenic landscape where birdsong takes you on a journey away from the hustle and bustle of every day life.

Conondale`s population is round about 1,500 with many new-comers wanting to `escape from the city` and enjoy country life.

This tiny town has a General Store, swimming pool, tennis courts, playground, a Community/Public Hall, State School and also houses the well-known Crystal Waters Eco village, which offers regular Permaculture courses and has a fabulous Market on the 1st Saturday morning of the month.

Walkers, hikers, bird watchers and nature lovers, love the Conondale National Park for its untouched forest and for the extraordinary diverse range of plants, birds and animal species found throughout the forest and in, and around, the many water holes.

The popular Conondale Range Great Walk`s main entrance is in Booloumba Creek day-use area situated only a 10 to 15 minutes drive from Conondale. Walks range from short strolls to the Great 56 km Circuit Walk used by seasoned hikers.
Charlie Moreland day-use area can be accessed by two-wheel drive and is a really pretty picnic spot is also only a short 10-15 minute drive away.

Conondale is part of the Sunshine Coast Council`s DIVISION 5

Conondale Community Matters would like to pay respect to the traditional custodians of this land on which we play, work and live, the Kabi Kabi people. We also pay our respects to the past, present and emerging elders.
